Atahuri is located on the doorstep of Peka Peka beach an unspoilt safe swimming beach that stretches for miles. Take a stroll or go for a run or just do nothing and nestle down in one of the many dunes and gaze up at the sky and watch the clouds go by.
At low tide we encourage our guests to try their luck digging for tuatuas and clams to pop on the BBQ – a must with that pre dinner drink! Just offshore is Kapiti Island, guardian of the coast and one of the main attractions in the area.
Kapiti Island is one of New Zealand’s most significant nature reserves, located in a marine reserve. Here, the Maori family who live on the island, operate Kapiti Island Nature Tours. They offer visitors genuine Maori hospitality and unique nature experiences. They offer a full day tour including a wonderful seafood lunch or a half day tour. Pre-booking is essential and we can help you with your travel arrangements to the Island. Usually we can arrange for our guests to be picked up and dropped off from Peka Peka Beach.
Bike riding
We have complimentary road bikes which can be ridden to a selection of beach side cafes and art galleries within the surrounding area.
Kites
Have some fun and take one of our many kites down to the beach. Lift off… and enjoy!
Pool & Spa
The pool encircles the spa and is a great place to cool off. If heat is what you're after head straight to the spa. The pool and spa area catches the last of the sun’s rays and is a fabulous place to see out the day.
